HANDICAPS

All knockouts are MAJOR competitions and the maximum handicap allowable will be 18.

Competition Format Handicap Playing Difference Trophy & Prizes
VICTORY CUP Singles Match Play The player with the higher handicap receives strokes amounting to 3/4 the difference between the two players handicaps. 1st & 2nd Prizes
HOLLINS CUP Four Ball Better Ball Match Play The THREE players with the higher handicaps receive strokes amounting to 3/4 difference between their own handicap and that of the lowest handicap. 1st & 2nd Team Prizes
BAMBER CUP Four Somes Match Play Couples add their handicaps together and the couple with the higher combined handicap receive strokes amounting to HALF of the difference between the combined handicaps. 1st & 2nd Team Prizes

NOTE RULES

Each Round MUST be played by the date fixed by the Committee. In the event of any game not being started at the time fixed by the Committee, both players/teams will be disqualified or the match awarded to the player/team ready to play on the 1st Tee at the time fixed by the Committee.

All matches will be played over 18 holes. If a match is tied after 18 holes, play will continue for a further THREE holes commencing at the first tee with handicap allowances as are appropriate. If the match continues to be tied after three holes have been completed, the match will go into Sudden Death and will continue until a result has been declared.

PLAY MUST COMMENCE FROM THE FIRST TEE AND WHITE TEE MARKERS MUST BE USED.

In the event of a match being called off due to inclement weather or darkness it is the players responsibility to reconvene at the earliest possible date to complete the match. If the match is called off whilst on the course, play will recommence from the point where the golf balls were marked.

All matches must be played and completed by 23.59 hours on the closing date with the result posted on the competitions sheet. Failure to comply with this rule will mean disqualification.

It is the responsibility of all competitors to arrange the date and time of play. If a player or team fails to tee off within 30 minutes of the arranged time they will be disqualified from the competition and their opponents will go through to the next round.

ANY PLAYER OR TEAM WHO BREACHES THESE RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE COMPETITION.
