- Members eligible to play in Club Competitions may add their names to the electronic starting time sheet, after it has been posted by contacting the professional, at any time after posting and up to the time the 1st player tees off in the Competition (Drawn Competitions excepted). No alterations to start times will be allowed after a drawn competition has been posted.
- Prior to the day of the Competition, eligible members shall not:-
- in a singles enter more than 3 names, i.e. one time slot allocation.
- in a better ball slot enter more than 2 pairs, i.e. one time slot allocation.
- On the day of the Competition and eligible member whose name has not been entered for the Competition may apply to the Professional for any starting time which may be available. If for any reason a member, whose name has been entered on the Competition Time Sheet is unable to play, they must advise the Professional as quickly as possible to delete his name , in order that the vacancy might be made available to another member. Following deletion, any such member shall not be permitted to enter that Competition on that day at a later time. Any member who fails to show for his allotted time on the day of a competition will be banned from the next two competitions and will be fined £5. This must be paid before the member is allowed to enter a subsequent competition.
- On Competition days (Mid week Competitions excepted), Non-Competitors may only play:-
- after the last match has teed off or
- if allocated a vacant starting time by the Professional before the last match (Drawn competitions included).
- Before play all competitors must ensure that their name is entered in the Competition Computer System, pay the appropriate fee, take out a scorecard, clarify their Handicap and be on the Tee five minutes before the appointed time. The competition Committee may penalise any player and take any action deemed necessary against members who fail to observe the conditioins of entry.
- On completion of the round it is the responsibility of the player to check his own card, enter his score in the Computer System, sign it and ensure his marker has countersigned the card before depositing it in the Competition Card Box. If any player fails to post his score via the computer system it will be deemed as a 'no show' and the same penalty is applied (two competitions ban and £5 fine).
- Any players continually playing with undue delay will be penalised either on the score returned, or may be barred from entering subsequent competitions at the discretion of the handicap committee.
- All Competitions shall be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Golf and the Rules governing Ties in Competitions, as defined by the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs (LUGC). The Competitions Committee, which includes the Club Captain as final arbiter, shall be in charge of all competitions. All disputes regarding Competitions shall be settled by the committee, whose decision shall be regarded as final. In the event of a tie for a Strokeplay Competition for the Major Trophies, a further 18 holes will be played under handicap, except for the Scratch Trophy.
- Entries for Knockout Competitions must be accompanied by the appropriate fee as prescribed in the club diary. If the fee has not paid by the time the draw is made the entry will be removed. only fully paid up members as defined in the Articles of Association and the Club Rules will be eligible to enter kncokout competitions.
- To gain a handicap 3 cards should be submitted one of which should be with a Committee member. Once a handicap has been gained three competition cards must be submitted each year to retain that handicap. Away cards submitted for handicap assessment must be signed by the relevant authority (i.e. Handicap Secretary). Any player entering a competition must have submitted a minimum of three cards that were eligible for handicap adjustment in the previous season.
- Dates fixed for the completion of any Matchplay round must be strictly adhered to. Both parties have an equal responsibility for arranging and playing the knockout rounds up to and including the Semi-Final. Finals will be arranged in conjunction with the competitions committee. Failure to agree a date, by the due dates will result in both sides being eliminated from the competition.
- PRACTICE: On the days of Stroke Play Competition, practice will be permitted on the Practise Ground and the Practice Putting Green. Practice elsewhere on the Course will lead to disqualification from the competition, unless authorized by the Competitions Committee.
